Communities In Schools - Aurora, IL – Thank You to Aurora Firefighters Local 99!

This past June, Communities In Schools of Aurora was honored to be chosen by Aurora Firefighters Local 99 as the charity of choice for their annual golf outing. This fundraiser helps CIS offset the costs of the Back-To-School Fair, held in August, where approximately 4,000 backpacks, filled with school supplies the students need to begin the new year, are distributed to local area children.

We were delighted to be presented with the check just after the start of this new year. We can’t say Thank You enough to the Local 99 firefighters and to all those who attended the golf outing for their generosity. Because of you there were a lot of smiling, happy children when they received their backpack and supplies.

We were again selected as the charity of choice for their upcoming golf outing to be held at Orchard Valley Golf Course on June 18th. We are grateful for the partnership with these remarkable men.
