The Daytime Services Program of CIS assists school personnel in addressing the mental health and emotional needs of students that can impact the students’ ability to be successful in school. Students from CIS affiliated schools in Districts 129, 131, 204 and 308 are eligible to receive services. CIS staff members conduct assessments on referred students, provide ongoing case management between the school staff, agency providers and family members. Based on the input received from students, parents and school partners, CIS staff members connect the student with a counselor from a local social service agency. The counselor meets with the student on a weekly basis, setting treatment goals to improve school success. Through this program students receive counseling at their school site increasing the ability of social service providers to reach out to children in need.
